Performing A Proper Maintenance In Control Panels
Every residential house or a commercial building probably needs a control panel. It is usually being place where power comes into and allocates the entire home or establishment. Control panels were describes as flat, usually vertical where electrical connections meets within a single area to organize or monitor certain instruments. It is use to control systems engineering and keep its performance by utilizing its diverse fundamentals. This panels measures different parameters including the voltage and electric current using a gauge.
Before planning to perform maintenance in your control panels, make sure to turn off the high voltage power supply to avoid danger. Check the switch, electric charges and ground circuits carefully prior to adjustments. Here are some important considerations when performing control panels maintenance:
- Ahead of setting everything in operation, check if all the connections are well associated with each other before making headway of the control panel.
- If the components of electricity are supplied, you should be aware that the obstinate tools being used in heating elements can attract some wetness during the passage, stages of rooms, or if ever denotes wet surroundings which causes cold insulation resistance and must be checked prior to stimulating.
- Avoid being near to live circuits. If you are planning to do an electric maintenance, be sure that all precautions for circuit issues are adjusted correctly including restoring all the elements inside your panel and all high voltage sources must be turned off.
- Don’t just rely on the instructions and general procedures as things can change instantly when you do it in actual. If you don’t have the right skills to do it, an expert installer can manage everything for you as they know the right process, the specific tools to use and the applicable regulations.
In today’s modern industry, electrical components such as control panels has becoming more complex and increasingly develops its piece of elements inside with individual purposes. There is a function for temperature, speed pressure, overheating sensor and the microprocessor. It can adjoin an ATS or Automatic Transfer Switch to uphold the stability of electrical power use. This switch will serve as the detector for power outage and inform the panel to automize the generator. With that being said this control panel features made it exceptionally practical in homes, commercial establishments and institutions during unexpected situations.
Here are the basic constructions of electrical control panels:
- It has an enclosure with different sizes, handles and ratings.
- A Low water cut-off to monitor the level of water and unlock the working coils in the magnetic provider.
- It has a control thermostat with specific immersion that is being used for switching stages.
- A temperature high limit switch that is being reset manually in order to appoint the running circuits.
- It has a magnetic contactor that supplies power to the heating components of cpanel.
- It has a fused low voltage transformer to put down high voltage into safe mode before utilizing the maintenance.
- It has an individual fused element to avoid damages to circuits in case of overloads.
- It manages an on/off switch to connect and disconnect power wirings.
- It includes a built in circuit breaker to protect circuits.
- It has an audible alarm to give warning on faults.
- And lastly, it has a building management system designed for remote and alarm operations.
So, the next time you are about to manage or operate your electrical control panels, be sure to check out all of its specifics and constructions to avoid any pitfalls. You may want to ask the Control panel manufacturers for the exact panels that suit your home.
Can I use Auto transfer switch for 2 generators so that I cannot disturb the operation?
I use ATS to shift from generator A to Generator B with out disturbing the operation. If this is possible, please give me the specs.I use 2 - 700kva volvo generators
It depends what you are trying to do?
First do you want to use the second generator as a spare or should it be stand by?İf the load is not more than 50% of the capacity it is ok. But in any case the sensitivity of the tranfer swich is very important. There will be an interruption during the transfer even for a 1/sec (reaction time for the switch )Auto transfer switch senses the low voltage from the relay and than it reacts as follows "shut down the normal energy in this case it is the gen1 and then it starts gen2 and than gives the energy to the bus bar." That means there will be an interruption. The other case is more complicated we use sencronisation system same as we use in hydroelectric or thermal power plants. But it will cost alot of money.
