onan generator keeps shutting off.?

The generator starts ok. As soon as I release the start button, it immediatly shuts off. I cleaned out the carburator, changed oil & filter, replaced printed circuit board and it still shuts off as soon as the button is released. Any one with similar circumstances?

The kill switch is not grounded or it would not even start.... You need to strip down the carburetor and immerse the carburetor in SeaFoam or B12 for 24 hours to rid the gum residue from the carburetor. The needle valve on the carburetor is, obviously, stuck closed, not allowing fuel to get to the engine. The engine was trying to start and run on what fuel was coming from a restricted idle jet.
